CPR Saves Lives!

CPR Saves Lives!

Five years ago, Erin Hodgson and Bethany Lewis, Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital athletic trainers, heroically came to the rescue when football official, Jim Reef, went down on the field during the Sandy Valley vs. Indian Valley football game. Both trainers sprung into action and assessed that the official was in cardiac arrest. Because of their quick actions and emergency training, these two incredible athletic trainers used CPR and the automated external defibrillator, AED, to help save his life.

Because of these two athletic trainers and the first responders, coaches, school administrators, and all fans with medical expertise who provided support on the field, the official fully recovered.

Sandy Valley and Indian Valley would like to, once again, thank Erin Hodgson, Bethany Lewis, Garth Evans, the first responders, the students, parents, and fans of both Sandy Valley and Indian Valley.

As proven five years ago here at this very stadium, CPR training is critically important. Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital in Dover is offering a Friends & Family CPR class on Thursday, December 7, from 9 a.m. until Noon at the Dover Public Library Community Room. This lifesaving class is only five dollars and registration is required.
