posted Dec 5, 2017, 10:37 AM by Allison Morris
SVE students learned how to code this week thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Coates and the "Hour of Code" Computer Science Education Week. Hour of Code is a global movement to introduce students to computer science. "It engages every student, and proves that everyone can learn and code," stated Mrs. Coates, who teaches technology at SVE. Hour of Code is a one-hour coding challenge to give students an opportunity to learn what coding is and that it coding is fun for all!
"Everyone using a computer, phone, or other technology is coding every day in many different ways. I explained it to the students by saying they are in charge of telling the computer what to do," said Mrs. Coates.
