Cardinal Community Volunteers help at the library

The Sandy Valley Branch librarians want to say thanks to Mrs. Lampe’s 8th period Cardinal Community Volunteers.  On Thursday and Friday, Feb. 9th and 10th, this group of service-minded high school students took a bus to the Sandy Valley Branch library and spent some time moving, sorting, and packing books for the library’s semi-annual book sale.  The group moved 100 boxes of books and were a tremendous help to the staff of the library.  The proceeds from the book sale go to the Sandy Valley Friends of the Library and are used for community projects such as purchasing books to give away at the SV Boo at the School event in October.  The CCV students also packed up 50 boxes of books which are being sent to the nonprofit organization called Better World Books.  This organization resells donated books and gives money back to the donating library as well as to other charity organizations around the world.  The staff at Sandy Valley Branch Library appreciate all the hard work by SV Cardinal Community Volunteers.  Thanks, Cards!

Cardinal Volunteers are: Dean Freitag, Tyler Price, Nathan Ashton, Halley Shoemaker, Aryaunna Farley, Micaela Mead, Grace Lynn Miller, Halley DeOrio, Sam Starcher, Dylan Sterling, Loghan Russell, Stephanie O’Bradovich and Kiannah Sarver.
